Rafting on a Tara river is one of the most exciting moments one can experience in Montenegro. Canyon of Tara river is the second deepest in the world, after Canyon Colorado, and it is the unique oasis of tranquility and untouched nature. River is transparently green and also drinkable, but exciting and not dangerous rafting, can’t be described- it can only be experienced.
River Lim is also very challenge for rafting, specialy part of Tifran where is the deepest whirlpool in Balkan.
In the surroundings of Bijelo Polje a great number of caves and pits can be found. The most known and the biggest one at the same time is the “Cave above the Devils Swirls”, also known as Djalovica cave. Other caves worth the attention are Novakovica cave and Osoja cave.
Entrance to the caves are planned with the usage of full equipment and with the escort of experts. This program is accompanied with mountaineering activities and hiking through attractive destinations, contacts with locals, great food….
Whenever you can, watch the birds. The more time you commit to them, the faster you will meet them. The best time for bird-watching is when they are the most active. During the year, its in the migration period (end of February until April, and from August to November) and in nesting period: mostly from March to June/July, although in the mountains, depending on the snow cover it starts in May or June, and with bigger birds of prey its from February to August.
In Montenegro, only 5 areas which fulfill already set international standards have been identified – Skadar and Sasko lake, Ulcinj’s Solana, Durmitor and Biogradska gora.
